The chair took to her as a warm embrace. The day had been cold and her feet were worn. The pressure built and wore her. Leaving her weak and immobilized. She was beaten down in her thoughts. The mirror was no help. It was now her curse for seven years. The shards looked at her to remind her the consistency of her failures. Her lips were dry and cracked. The wounds tasted bitter. Her head rested against the back of the cumbersome seat. But It was a comfort. A much needed solace. It was a sanctuary, if but for a moment. Her bruises didn't seem to heal, her scars seems to show more everyday. The flaws were raping her of what little sanity she had. Time ticked in her ears and her voice broke. Not broken. But it stopped time with her scream. The Dust in the air froze, the water in the sink hovered like a deadened weight. Nothing was heart but the beating of her heart. No whir of the lights. No Hiss from the fire. No cackle from the dark. Empty. A deafening silence. The innocent unbroken. She smiled and returned to the embrace of the chair.
