Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) is a peaceful meditation exercise that practices Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. It originated from China in 1992.
However, former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin soon realized that the number of people who practice Falun Gong (100 million) exceeded the number of people in the Communist Party. Out of jealousy, he started a brutal crackdown and persecution of Falun Gong. On July 20th, 1999 about 1/10th of China's population was labeled as enemies. Over 100,000 people have been sentenced to forced labor camps, and there are over 3,010 confirmed deaths of Falun Gong Practitioners (although the real number is estimated to be in the 10,000s). People who simply wish to practice Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance are being tortured everyday inside China.
