Overwhelms our minds,
With hatred and lies.
Crawls onto our thoughts,
Like an ivy on a standing tree.
Blind wanderer of obscured talons,
Sigil as a moth,
Perching from above,
Decoy of unknown,
Envoy of fear.
Blurs the vision,
Like a specter in the mists.
Silent, it stalks our steps,
Following our souls maliciously.
Glides through the silky wheat fields.
Hiding its true nature,
Beneath the skies,
It engulfs in trickery.
Lustrous as a black spinel,
It conceals the trail left behind,
With dawn’s refulgent arrival.
It retaliates through the depths,
Waiting for a chance,
To seize dominance
Over the land,
Looked upon the guardians.
The desert sand, poured into the glass of eternity.
Captured, fulfilling its intent.
Announces its arrival,
With six thundering roars,
Of deafening news.
“From the depths I come,” it whispers
The night watch takes over the horizon,
It torments our dreams, our memories,
The scourge blooms into the night.
Whom dwell the shadows,
Shall hunt hope in forsaken consorts.
Its essence disturbs the midnight’s breeze
With salt and rusty morning scents.
The hound gazes over its kingdom,
And only time is to determine its defeat.
As the sun emerges over the frontier,
Our lucent aegis glances over the province,
The fiend retaliates to its ramparts.
Waiting for another opportunity,
To gallop at full haste, eager to return.

Description:
Hello there, this is a composition I made for a school work but I really wanted to see feedback! I’m French Canadian thus I did have a really hard time working on this piece, I did my research on the vocabulary and I hope the result is alluring! Please post your comments and vote! Cheers!
(The project consisted on writing a poem about something abstract avoiding the use of synonyms and direct definitions so people have to guess what the title is) - Date: 10/16/2009
