Our's has no end;
Be there some leverage keep this heavy heart upright?
What broad by two could never come undone,
Unweighted.
Compromised the glittered sun
And all its rapture still yet due...
Should I prize the matter fully,
Some equitable sense around my haven.
But to question the entirety would give proof
And cause me resisting doubt.
And there within found dually amplified:
It does me vanity speak my word.
It does me vanity to work the ground.
Oh but for purpose to yet be found,
I write it down.
I write it down
In midst of turbulent ambient sound
I write it down.
I write it down
Until with deaf mens' ears they be found -
That they cannot with plain-cast eye
See cascade grin, and tasteless knack
Of morbid tongue and weightless words
Drive stakes into Golgotha's mound;
I write it down.
As simple as it has been, would,
For me, to act as others should:
Who restrict themselves in their freedoms,
Unaware to un-oppression, they could...
Remember me, this road I turned.
Remember me this word I spoke,
And write it down.
And write it down
Which caused to fork decisions spurned -
This narrow, unpaved, shadowed path,
And write it down.
And write it down
To contrast ignorance bought or earned,
Staved or glorified, masked, or true,
To mark all these that fit their hue,
So man, the world, might change his view
And write it down.
