Pumpkin's Short Stories
I am gonna post chapters from my short stories that I am working on. As I finish one story I will continue forward.
When she arrived, there were at least six body guards dressed in metal armor with beautiful silk garments beneath the armor. Inside her office was three police men, four rather tall men - each with long black hair that was braided and touched the floor. In a chair, which was across from her own, there was an elder man with floor legnth grey hair, which was also braided tightly. At the end of the braid was a gold colored tassel which held his hair in place. He was dressed in elegant garments of silk that signified he was apart of some sort of royal family. In the corner of her office, there was three very beautiful Chinese women, whom remarkably looked like a younger version of the elder man. They also looked as if they were triplets, but there was certain features that you could tell they was not triplets.

Amelia took a deep breath, and entered her office. The second she did, the guards approached her in unison. "Halt!" One of the guard in the middle exclaimed. The younger man that was standing next to the elder man looked over to Amelia.

"Who are you?" He demanded in a protective manner. Amelia looked at the younger man and smirked.

"I am Amelia O'Connor, and this is my office. And who might I presume you are?" She asked, rather annoyed that her office was being invaded by some oriental people that she has never met in her entire life. She then walked over to her chair and took a seat only to come face to face with the elder man. She examined him carefully, as though she was trying to predict what he was about to say next through his expressions. Unfortunately for her, he bared no expression except that of a serious one. After a long moment of silence the elder man spoke.

"Miss O'Connor..... I presume..?" He asked in a rasped voice. Amelia nodded. "I take it you have recieved my letter? Do you have that key?" He added. As he spoke, Amelia pulled out the necklace which was hiding beneath her blouse.

"Yes sir, I do have the key." She responded with respect in her voice.

"Good." He exclaimed. "Do not ever take it off. We cannot afford for it to fall into the wrong hands." He said, his age showing in his voice. The younger man then handed her an unmarked envelope.

"Take this." He said. "It contains the information that you need. But do not read it here. Go somewhere where it is secluded, and there is no one else around. What you need to know is inside this envelope. You cannot ignore this mission. My home world depends upon it." He said in a wise manner. Amelia looked at the unmarked envelope quizzically then put it inside of one of her pockets, so she would know it would be safe. She then looked over to the elder man.

"What exactly, is this mission? And why did you choose me to full fill the mission? I am just a normal, average young woman with no gifts or special powers." She said in a truthfull maner. "There's no way that I'd be able to save an entire country all on my own...." She trailed off as it dawned on her what the younger man had just said. "Wait a minute... what do you mean by save your 'home world'?" She asked more carefully.

At that very moment the elder man gave Amelia a toothly grin.

"My dear, you have more powers than you'll ever believe. You just need to search within yourself to find them. Above all other things, no matter what anyone else says, you must be able to believe in your self and trust in the powers in order to find them." He said. As he finished his sentence, there was a lingering silence. Amelia just took another deep breath and leaned back in her seat uneasily as she took in everything that she just discovered.

"Father, if I may add..." the younger man began. His father glanced to him and nodded for approval. "Miss O'Connor, you the girl of legend. We have been searching for you for quite some time now. Centuries to be exact. Please, I beg of you, accept this mission. If you don't, our world will be inialated and it will become nothing more than a pile of dust..... that was once a great city that accomplished many things." He said, trying to persuade Amelia.

"Whooooaaa.... wait a minute there!" Amelia exclaimed. "Before I even consider taking this supposed 'mission', what proof do you have that will show me that this isn't some hoax? I mean how am I suppose to know if you are telling the truth or not? And where is your 'home world' anyhow?" She demanded. Everything just sounded to vaigue for her to figure out what was going on. Both the younger man and the elder man looked at each other, then to Amelia.

to be continued....
