Raishi (1)
Hello. This is a story about the main character I formed in Language Arts. Her name is Tsurai Hoshi, or Raishi. She's fifteen and lives in Tokyo, Japan.
“Hey, Raishi, you wanna hang out later?” Kina was looking at me with anticipation. “Ya know, after work and all?” Se handed me a book.
I thought it over for a few seconds. Naniku and I were supposed to go to my place and rehearse some songs. He was bringing his guitar and some sheet music.
“Raishi?” I still hadn’t answered. “Are you alive?” She waved a hand in front of my face and poked her two fingers into my thin black-rimmed glasses, leaving a smudge on the lenses. I scanned the book for the price.
“Naniku is coming over but-”
“Then I’ll leave you guys alone…” She winked at me.
“Um… I was going to say you could bring your violin, because I finished playing “Eternal Snow” by memorization last night.”
“But you can be alone with him, right?” She smiled mischievously at me and raised her eyebrows.
“So you wanna come over or not?”
“No thanks then.” She turned back to grab her bag and paid me for the Manga she had just bought. “See ya later! Sunday I guess.” She smiled and waved as she walked out the front door of the bookstore. “Bye.”
Naniku came and wrapped his arms around my waist. He leaned his head close to my neck and murmured “Are we really just gonna practice music?” Then I felt lips press against my neck and heard “Since your dad’s out of town and all?”
I felt my face turn red and a shiver of pleasure run up my spine. “Well…” I said with a playful tone, “We’ll just have to find out, won’t we?”
“Ah-em” A lady in her twenties walked up to the desk looking at me expectantly.
Naniku let go of me and whispered, “I’ll be thinking of you…” and walked back to the other side of the front desk.
My face got even redder and the lady passed me four cookbooks. Looking at the titles, I realized one was on French desserts.
“Where did you get this one?”
She smiled brightly and answered, “it was way in the back of the cookbook section. There’re only three copies left now.”
I rang her up and made a mental note to check it out after my shift.
