eek After that visit from my future self I thought I might try and find a reason for this journal, I know, I'll teach the masses the way of the pyromaniac! Just some mild pyrotechnics to start off with.
Match Rockets

A pin
Tin foil
A paperclip
Quite a big space to fire them.
Method
1. Take a match and hold the pin against the match so the pointy end faces towards the non-flamey end of the match, the flat part of the pin slightly over lapping the flamey end of the match.
2. Wrap the tin foil around the pin and match making sure to cover both ends of the match, leave the flat end of the pin sticking out.
3. Remove the pin without ripping the tinfoil by sliding it out through the gap you left. This should leave a tiny hole.
You can launch your rockets off the edge of a table if you wish but I find making a stand works muck better.
4. to make the stand, simply bend the paperclip so it is straight, then bend it into the shape of a capital M.
5. bend the 2 ends of the paperclip so the M will stand up, adjust the angle as you wish, an angle of 45 degrees will provide maximum distance.
Preperation and Launching
Table launching
Posistion the match so half of it is on the table and half is off, the half that is off should be the end with the tiny hole in, simply hold a flame up to the end with the tiny hole in and your match should blast off.
Stand Launching
Put the end without the tiny hole in the dip in the middle of your stand.
Hold a flame up against the tiny hole and your match will blast off.
