I awoke with my eyes burning.
The almighty sun was glowing directly through my window, creating this golden glare that pained my eyes, making my eyelids crimson when I blinked.
"Don't worry, light will not kill you," a voice said, as a chord was yanked and a curtain fell over the window, "But it's so troublesome...especially now in your weakened condition."
I sat bolt upright, seeing the figure in the shadow at the corner of the room. Dressed in high class attire, stood Arthur Louvvre, one of the three vampires that had feasted on my blood the day before.
"It just burns a bit," he said, letting the chord fall from his hand and walking up to the bedside, "Ramona insisted that I take care of you, and Almard is quite peeved that you were such a chase. You gave him the thrill, that's for sure and certain, but I'd watch it. He has quite a temper when one annoys him enough. You did that last night, running as you did and attacking his face like that."
"What did you expect?" I yelled, trying to escape the covers of the huge bed, only to realize my waist was bolted down, "WHAT THE HELL!?" I struggled and clawed at the band.
Arthur shook his head, "Don't struggle. It's there for your convience." He pushed a button connected to a metal box on the wall. A mask descended from the darkness of the canopy above, and fell onto my face, latching on. I shook my head frantically to get it off, but no use. My fingernails where bloody from all the scratching I had done in vain.
"Calm down," he said, grabbing ahold of my wrists and pinning them down to my sides. Two more bands latched around my wrists, "Rastel, the pain of transforming is enough to make a man go insane. You will start viciously attacking everything, including yourself, and killing yourself is not what we want you to do at this particular juncture. Besides, cutting yourself into ribbons is not the way to go, believe me."
My chest heaved with terror and desperation, as I felt what seemed to me to be an itching above my heart. I wanted to scratch it, especially as it intensified and changed into a burning sensation that began to spread over my skin.
I growled in aggitation, my fingers scraping at the covers of the poor bed at my disgruntled behavior of being so powerless, I couldn't even scratch a slight irritation. Being like this pissed me off to no end.
Suddenly, Arthur's cold hand touched my left hand. With shock, I realized the aggitation and burning ceased immediately, and a pleasant coolness spread along my hand. I wanted more, and I jolted over as much as I could to see if I could make him touch more of my arm or something to stop the pain. Frustrated because of the binds, I growled and bore my teeth.
"Aya... such a beast," Arthur said, backing away and taking his hand from mine, "I was going to help you, but if you're going to be uncivil, I might as well just sit back and away."
"NO! Come back!" I pleaded desperately as the burn flared up again, enveloping my body completely.
Suddenly, my mouth felt like somebody had forced a series of razors into my mouth to dance on my tongue and slice it to ribbons. My teeth felt like somebody had jabbed a knife into them, and was twisting it this way and that, laughing as they observed my teeth chipping and breaking.
"The fangs are growing in. It's quite a painful experience, very detestable." Arthur commented, taking a seat in a cushioned armchair and crossing his legs, "It's not the worst part though." He laughed softly and leaned forward to support his chin on the back of his hand, "The really good part is coming up. It's really... excrusiating..."
"b*****d! Assist me! I know you can take away the pain! Make it go away!" I snarled, my tongue touching the needle sharp point of one of my lengthened canines. With a yelp I set my head all the way back, as if it was an outside weapon pointed at my mouth that I had unfortunately licked by accident.
"Yeah, don't lick your teeth... it's not a good habit anyway." Arthur chuckled.
"Please... stop the pain..." I breathed, when suddenly my blood flared up. All my innards felt like they were imploding.
I cried. No... I SCREAMED.
Arthur, safe and sound in his little chair, clapped exitedly. "Oh yes! The parts where all the organs stop working! This is hell right here. Your body just dies, one piece at a time. The stomach's the worst... acid goes everywhere and starts burning your innards. It's not pretty. I suggest you look up."
I kept screaming, feeling my skin hold tight over the turmoil under it. I felt like the devil had plunged it's hand into my body and was tearing and crushing each of my organs.
Finally, Arthur stood up and walked over to me, placing his hand on my exposed neck.
The pain stopped.
A wave of ultimate relief poured down my throat like water and spread over my body, driving away the wicked chaos. With a sigh of ecstacy, I relaxed all over, allowing the change to persist without feeling anything but cool pleasant fingers on my throat.
"Jill, Ramona, and Aeris... all subdued by you post-vampire... I wonder what they will think of you now..." Arthur smiled, showing his fangs underneath his lip casually, "The final change is what I like to call "the Bibbity-boppity-boo" stage. Basically, you are glorified... from your dirty human characteristics, to a diginified personafication of intense beauty and intelligence. It picks you up from the mudpits of the swine world and cleans you off. You will become a refined idol... perfection in physical form."
By the sound of Arthur's voice, I could tell exactly what he thought of humans... animals in the mud.
I looked up at his eyes, and he had his eyebrows raised in surprise, looking at my torso and my arms. He looked back at my masked face, with a satisfied smile, glee in his crimson eyes, "Your eyes are done."
"What am I to you? A cake?"
He licked his lips, "You sure tasted like one."
"Funny..." I growled.
"Here, let me get this off of you. It's over." He reached over and pushed two buttons next to my temples. The mask rose, lifting off of my face and ascending into the darkness of the canopy again.
Arthur smirked and looked very impressed, "Ice blue... perfect and rare..." He bent down and using his thumb, moved my chin back and forth, taking a look at my profile, "Perfect in every way... you look even more... astounding... than before! How could that have been possible?"
He laughed and walked over to a side table, lifting a silver object from it's surface.
"Take a look at the new you!" He poised the mirror over my face, and my eyes widened as I saw the face of the most handsome vampire I had ever seen... with ice blue eyes and pale snow skin. His teeth were pearl white, and his hair was silken and smooth. This new face... was mine... and it would stay that way... for the duration of my eternal life.

Vampires can become more than just humaniod. Sometimes they can become a creature, such as a cat, a raven, a bat, or a wolf. In this story, Raphael becomes more than the average raven or bat. He becomes a dark fox-like animal with angelic curve wings. He is small, about the size of a large household cat. To keep him under her care, Aeris fastens a chain with a rose symbol around his neck. This keeps him from going on blood sprees, and it allows her to help him from a distance if he is in danger.
