Cal: LISSABELLE!
Lissabelle: CAL!
Her arm was still extended out towards him, but she was still further away. She tried to jump from the cart, but Anthony pulled her further back into the cart and tied her wrists behind her back.
Cal: LISSABELLE!
The cart zoomed off, way out of his reach now. Cal slowed to a jog, then an unstable walk, and eventually stopped and stooped over with his hands on his knees, catching his breath.
Jessina: Oh my god... She's...she's actually going back...
Lissabelle's sister fell to her knees with her eyes glazed over in shock.
Jessina: It's...it's all my fault... I should have kept an eye on her... That stupid girl just came out of nowhere...I mean...I could have stopped her...I...
Cal: It's not your fault, Princess.
The boy stood upright and walked over to the trough where he had left his horse and mounted with ease.
Cal: And you don't have to worry.
He wiped the sweat off his face as he led the horse back onto the dirt road.
Cal: I'm gonna get her back.
Before the other two even had time to respond, he was off, speeding behind the cart and ready to fight for his friend.
Chase: He's really ambitious, don't you think?
Jessina: Mm.
Chase: Think he'll ever tell her?
Jessina: Tell her what?
Chase: Are you really that dense?
Jessina: AM NOT!
Chase Then how do you not see it?
Jessina: See what?
Chase: Cal...and your sister...
Jessina: What about them?
Chase: (Sweatdrops) I give up....
Lissabelle: Anthony... I thought you were Cal's friend...
Anthony: And I was....however...the two of us always had a bit of rivalry. He was always Mr. Goody-Goody. He was a better duelist, a smarter person, a better friend. When we were kids, playing in the yard, he was always the hero, and I'd be the bad guy. Of course, I never won. "The bad guy never wins," he'd say. But guess what, Cal. The bag guy's gonna win this time...
Lissabelle: So that's it... You want to ruin my life just so you can show Cal that you've beat him?
The thought of this made anger boil inside of her, almost as badly as it would if Aderas had been standing right in front of her.
Anthony: Well, it's actually more than that... I want money too.
He smiled wickedly back at her, making her want to slap the grin off of his face.
Clara: Um....Eric.... We've got company....
The driver of the cart turned to his right, seeing a tall, brunette man riding his white Arabian.
Cal: If you don't stop this right now, I'm going to kill you, Eric!
He drew his sword and took a swing at Eric's throat, but the man dodged at the last minute.
Clara: Eric.... Maybe you should.... I don't think he's kidding...
Eric: Do you want this money or not, Clara?
Clara: I do, but is it really worth your life?
Brad: I...I ag-gree with C-Clara on this one...
Brad stammered sloppilly as he made his way closer to the man with the reins, Cal making another stab at Eric, but missing by an inch.
Eric: Why should I listen to you? You're drunk.
Brad just shrugged, grunted, and sat down.
Cal lunged once again, this time making contact with Eric's side.
Eric: GAHH!
He clutched his wound with one hand and doubled over the rains, pulling them roughly and making the horses halt abruptly.
Clara: Eric!
She rushed to the front of the cart, but her fiance merely pushed her away.
Eric jumped from the driver's seat to the ground as Cal dismounted. Their two blades glinted in the sun, as well as the blood rushing from Eric's new wound did.
Cal: Eric... I don't want to kill you... Just...just let her go...
There was sincerity in his voice, making Lissabelle's heart skip a beat as she sat listening in the cart.
Clara: Eric...can't we please...?
Eric: No. I'm going to end this...
Cal: Suit yourself.
The younger of the two opponants rushed over and slammed his sword against Eric's. They stared viciously at each other for a few moments, but then Cal pushed harder and sent Eric stumbling backward.
Clara: Eric...Eric stop this!
The girl was close to tears.
Clara: Please....just....stop.... For me?
Eric ignored her and charged up to Cal this time. Their swords clanged up against each other over and over, Cal blocking every shot being sent towards him. Finally he found an open spot and cut Eric in his shoulder, making him double over in pain.
Clara: ERIC!
She jumped from the cart and went up to her fiancee, but he shoved her away.
Clara: I'm trying to help...
Eric: Back off!
Clara: But...
Eric: I said BACK OFF!
Clara was crying more than ever, now. She returned to the cart and didn't look back.
Cal: You can't win... You're injured, you're tired, you're only running on rage...
Eric: Shut up and fight!
He thrusted his sword forward, trying to stab Cal in the chest, but he was a few inches short. Cal knocked the blade away and sent it flying through the air, way out of his opponant's reach.
Cal: You wanted to end this? Looks like I'm going to be doing that part.
He stepped closer to Eric, who collapsed to his knees in defeat, then hung his head, ready for the last blow....
Clara: Wait!
She came out of the cart, clutching Lissabelle by the arm.
Clara: Here, take her... At least you understand the concept of fighting for those you love.
She let go of Lissabelle's arm, letting the young girl run up to Cal, tears still streaming down her face.
Clara: Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some lecturing to do...
Cal: Are you okay, princess?
Lissabelle sniffled, then chuckled uneasily.
Lissabelle: I told you to call me Lissabelle.
With that, she wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face in his chest, still crying, not so much in fear, but now happiness. He chuckled, then let his arms drape around her waist, allowing her to let it all out.
Aderas: WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN'T?
Aderas's trip around the river had sent him all the way back to the palace, so he met with the king to discuss the search.
King William: Sending troops into Adria would practically be starting a war. We can't risk peace in this country over the escape of my daughters...
Aderas: But we know that's where they're headed... Do you not want them back, your highness? What will happen to the country after you pass away?
King William: Well, if they don't turn up, then I suppose a close royal friend would need to take over. My wife couldn't do it, because she wasn't born royal. I have no neices or nephews... I suppose you'd be next in line, son.
Aderas: Hm... Really?
He snapped his fingers, sending his two bodyguards after the king.
King William: What...what are you doing?
Aderas: Sending you to the dungeon. Without you, this country would be so much better off, so much more....Western...
King William: You! My daughter was right about you! I should have listened to her... I'll never let you marry her! Never in a million years!
Aderas: Well you won't be around to stop me now, will you?
He chuckled as the king was forced down the long, marble hallway by the guards, his father-in-law scowling back at him with anger.

Yay, it's time for my input at the end ^^ sorry for the wait for this chapter. I just thought of a really great idea for another story and I just HAD to start it so that it wouldn't slip my mind. Heh- I might actually draw my own characters for this one ^^
