Weekly Writer Weekly Writer: Week 12 Write about one thing today that made you smile. At work today there was a mother that came in pushing her son in a stroller and had what appeared to be a stuffed dog around his leg. He was all happy and adorable just smiling away! That was enough to make me smile, but when my co-worker mentioned how cute his dog was, his mother said she had got it from where she worked and it was originally a purse that had nail polish in it. It's his favorite heart and of course she can't even get it away to wash it. I love toys that have history whee Weekly Writer: Week 13 Reflect on the following statement: "In an online world, for as connected as we seem to be, there is something key missing in the interaction that makes it real." The five senses are: hearing, smell, taste, touch, and vision. I can't use all of them fully when conversing online, I think that's the missing key. When I have a conversation with someone IRL, my voice changes, I move around, I can hold a hand, try and strain to hear a whisper, regret that my someone ate tuna for lunch or share a bite of that tuna sandwich. How are you going to see the the way the fabric of my new skirt falls, or pick off that stray, almost invisible cat hair. I can try and comfort you, but I cannot reach out my arms to hold you. I won't be able to lean over to hear your whisper. You can send me a recipe to make your tuna sandwich, but how can I take a bite? I can't smell your favorite perfume. The internet is nice, I can stay in touch with people far away, meet people I never would in my small town, but there is nothing that can replace walking along the beach with a friend, feeling the warmth of the sun, smell of the ocean while eating an ice cream cone. xio · Thu Mar 22, 2007 @ 08:33am · 3 Comments
