If melody was a sin to be heard
And if instruments were kept behind bars
Only the deaf citizens would be cured
Of miseries advancing, fast as jaguars.
Every single thing would be run amok
If one were to even whisper a tune
He would be reminded of how havoc
Was once a notion that was to be shooed.
Humans would destroy any bird in sight
In fear that they would influence children
For if the children learned to sing with might
They might change what adults thought forbidden.
Indeed if music were against the law
Fate would conduct souls to become outlaws.
