‘Broken Bones’
I will never forget the first time I broke a bone. It was a hot day and we were doing a choreography test in choir period 4. It was my 7th grade year at Bernardo Heights Middle School in 2006. We were getting ready for winter break which was in about a week. It was on a Monday and all I wanted was for winter break to come I just never knew it would come so soon for me.
Well, here is my story about the first bone I ever broke. I had just reminded my friend how I was lucky enough to never break a bone. She told me how lucky I was and how bad it hurt. When I walked into class Mrs. Spain, our choir teacher, told us we had a choreography test. Near the end we were spinning to ‘R-O-C-K in the U.S.A.’ I was just telling my self how it was almost over then I could relax when my foot missed the riser. First my head hit the window, followed by my shoulder blade hitting this window frame, and then I landed on the ground.
All I remember after that was laying on a bed in the nurse’s office with ice on my shoulder and head. My face was wet with tears when my mom came to pick me up. I had to fill out an accident report and then go straight to the emergency room. All my mother was worried about was making sure I didn’t have a concussion. Till I sat down and started screaming like someone was trying to kill me. My doctor did some tests to make sure my head was fine and I only missed one question I mean you try moving just your eye brows after you hit your head. He took me in the radiology room to take x-rays of my tail bone. It was a cold scary room with only a camera and a metal bed, all I wanted was to get out. When I got out I staid in the waiting room with my mom all I could do was cry because it hurt so bad to sit. That is when I found out about my very first broken bone.
I went home got a whole three weeks off school being that winter break was two weeks and the rest of the quarter off P.E. When I came back everyone was wondering were I had been how I was and what happened I have told this story a 1,000 times and this wont be the last. I learned a lesson from this don’t brag how you never broke a bone till you are laying about minutes away from your death nothing good comes from it. I still have tail bone and back problems and will from the rest of my life. And that ends my story about the first broken bone I had ever gotten.
