When the light is gone,
Then the darkness will come.
If my light fades into my heart
Then my tomb is the darkness.

The darkness is a friend of mine
While its twin is an enemy.
The light is fond of me and follows.
The darkness protects me from the masters.

Master Sun and Mistress Moon are rulers.
Light tells them things while holding me in my place.
Darkness walks toward them, asking to leave me be.

When this happens, I’m no longer human, but a wife of light and an ally of darkness.
