I got a pink link when I signed on just now, so I have 1,000 gold added towards next month's quest for two letters.
This event is what I'm calling the Psychic Pink Link. Why? Well, I saw it coming before I signed on. Seriously. It was weird, but before I logged in, I noticed one of the banners had a pink frame around it as if it were a pink link. I thought nothing of it until I signed on and saw the little eek next to my avatar. The same banner was highlighted pink.
I wonder if this is a glitch.
