I lay there watching’
But no movement comes.
Soundlessly sleeping I see her do,
As I lay there watching.

I hide my tears behind the covers
I don’t want her to cry.
She had a long day,
So I lay there watching her soundlessly sleep.

I ask her questions
While tears run down her cheek,
She has a bruise on her back.
So I leave her alone to let her soundlessly sleep.

Good night Cami,
Now as I call her dad.
He says he will be there in the mourn,
As I watch her soundlessly sleep.
