Purple ink
and smearing lines
the residue it left behind.
the stains on your fingers,
all over your hands,
just like at a murder scene.
finger prints,
and smudgey marks
all over the paper.
but only a few spots,
here and there,
never together.
lines all about
maybe even a doodle,
something or other.
sometimes nothing,
nothing at all,
the paper never smothered.
