Night comes slowly in the summer
however it comes quickly in the winter
but on this day
this odd Tuesday
something strange happened
quite strange in fact
the sun rose as usual but the alarm did not go off
the clock sat frozen in time
I peered at it oddly then heard a chime
the sun was rising much to fast
the light was blinding and the heat was mad
I sweat in fear of what was coming
when up from the sky I heard a roar
it was that of Icarus II falling from the sky
the ship crashed into the sea
I tried to look but it was too far away to see
I jumped into my car and started it up
I drove to the coast
there it sat in the water like a statue frozen in time
its crew members could not boast their success for they were now ash
the sun lit up the world and warmed our hearts
for it had been two weeks since it had come
the sun touched the sky on that fateful day
the day when the crew of Icarus II were sadly lost
so I say to you
rejoice for the day will come when the sun starts to fade
and the crew of Icarus II will not be there to relight it and we will be covered in an infinate shade
