Also, we rented an Akira Kurosawa movie from the library called Yojimbo! It was very good. The main Samurai, played by Toshiro Mifune(also in The Seven Samurai), was totally funny and awesome! He won best actor at the Venice Film Festival when the movie first came out. On Wikipedia it says George Lucas considered Mifune to play Obi Wan Kanobi!
What the movie was about: Toshiro Mifune's character(Sanjuro) comes into this town where there are two feuding gangs who gamble and kill each other, and they fight over the new Ronin Sanjuro because he is such a good fighter.
Apparently Kurosawa borrowed a lot of themes from westerns in this movie(one street always empty with two gangs with showdownson the street, etc). It was a great movie!
