I can't believe how some people today actually accept some forms of racism.
As long as its in the form of a joke, it's fine. It's not.They don't realise how much it acually hurts. It might seem funny to the person saying it but I, myself, have been on the receiving end of racial bullying and it isnot funny. Either for having an Irish name while living in America, or just because I lived in America, I have been bulllied. In fact, today someone told me to "go home to America."
So many people don't notice that they say racial comments everyday. Either they just think they're being funny or they just don't care. It makes me sick. Racism is used so often that people don't even realise that it's discriminating.
I was listening to the news and there's this huge story about the current sereies of Celebrity Big Brother about Jade Goody discrimating Shilpa Shetty for being Indian and being of a higher class. And now Celeb BB has actually gotten higher ratings because of this. It's just terrible that everything that happened in America in the 60's, all that Martin Luther King Jr. did, seems to have gone to waste.
I'm going to stop writing now, but whoever reads this, think about what you say before you day it because you probably have no idea what this feels like.
