Well, this is the first "part" of a book I'm working on enjoy-





I looked though the mirror, the clear reflection shot back at me. Though there was nothing around me I felt as if being watched. I set the square of framed glass on the stone floor. The room was silent; of course, my family had gone many years before. My recently new age of 14 was unbearable. All I am is a young girl looking for food and shelter.
The footsteps began, just like before. I throw myself into the closet and closed it, my hands trembling. I held my breath as the slender door jolted open with a slam.
"Come out you wrench!" the shadow of his feet were inline with the light shining through the crack at the bottom of the closet doors.
Tears burnt their way down my cheeks. I could see his mouth by now, peeking at me with a sickening smile, I knew I would die today; if I was lucky. The accordion- folding doors crept opened. He took my matted hair and heaved me at the ragged mattress in the middle of the room. He withdrew a knife from his pocket; A step towards me? No? He hesitated, he eyeballed the blade.
"Now, now, I’m not going to hurt you," he coasted towards me and knelt.
I ghastly scrambled as far as I could away from him. I didn't understand. He seemed different. He was the fifteen-year-old son of Jaland, his name was Sterling. He rarely visited me, only to bring me a scrap of food.
" I didn't mean to hurt you, are you okay?" he touched my hand, I shuddered, " I had to convince my father I was going to do wrong upon you."
He smiled, "Wha-what-"
He cut me off, " I am here to help."
The knife was dispatched within Sterling’s cloak. He was a handsome boy, pale with deep, icy blue eyes. He was wonderful, yet I didn’t know if I was to trust this brown-headed youth.
Footsteps, Sterling placed his hand on my waist, “ Sterling you better get this job done!” Jaland snapped.
“ Can’t I have my way with her first?” He put his other gloved hand on my face.
Jaland laughed,” All the better for you, my wonderful son.”
Sterling whispered, “ I am sorry,” He placed his lips to mine; I froze and somehow liked the feeling.
The footsteps retreated, he continued to kiss me and I didn’t mind this though. He detached his mouth from mine and we stared at each other.
“ I am sorry, but it was the only way,” my took my hand and shifted to the door, “follow me.”
I had never come out of my room except for washroom breaks in the morning and night. Sterling glanced corners as we ran through the chambers. This fate fell before me but a few months ago, when I had asked Jaland for a penny, he nabbed me. This stupid war departed me from my family! What is an eleven-year-old to do?! Die?! Is that it?! Is this point and this point only to live: To kill all in thy path! Sickening! All over land too?! Pitiful! At least Sterling has a good heart from what I concur!
