I'm a full-fledged father. 8D
Looks like I'm the dad of the house now. (: Out of spite really, but I'm enjoying the role.

It's nothing new that my dad still thinks he's a kid and that he should be taken care of (rather than take the "extra" responsibilities of doing stuff around the house or taking care of his kids), so I decided I would kind of take his place. =D

I can tell it's making him crazy, which was mostly what I was after, but that's what you get for acting like a spoiled child. You can't be a 48 year old man with three children and expect your wife take the place of your mother. When you sit and b***h on the couch, you can't expect her to sit there and baby you up while there are kids that need help in the other room.

I, unlike some people, don't thrive off of pity, and I care more about what happens to two kids and my mother more than my own self image. I don't stick my nose in the air and expect service because I think I deserve it, I get it often more than I need it and I say thank you because I know how lucky I am.

Take your little boy to the doctor when he's sick? Nope. Help him with his homework? Nope. Play a game with him or your younger daughter? Nope. Buy groceries? Do laundry? Take care of the pets or wash the dishes? No, no, no, no. That's woman's work! Well lucky him, his daughter has grown into enough of a woman to take over all those kinds of things, so really he hardly has a place here. Ooh, ouch, did I say that?

Seriously though, I love my brother and sister, we have lots of fun together and I don't mind taking care of them. They like me too and they listen to me. My mom is the sweetest and she deserves more help, especially now that she has an ulcer and can't handle as much.

Honour thy mother and thy father... My friend Maria really sticks to those words, and she's taught me a lot about family. But in my opinion, don't waste your time unless they are honourable. I respect my dad as a person and the man who bitterly provides money for the family, nothing more. I'll respect him as a father if he ever decides to become one, but no book is going to make me go out of my way to please him when I could be helping more needy and more greatful people.

So as far as I'm concerned, until I move out I'm the daddy in this hizzouse. Yes I'm a bit full of myself too, but at least I have good enough reasons to be. XP

Well I must say dear Tam Tam that I am very, very proud of you. I went through something like this and it's not easy it really isn't.

Do your best, do what you can to help, offer assistance at every chance you get, it'll make your mother's life a lot easier.

As for your father, you know the saying "Kill them with Kindness?" well, it's the perfect thing to do. Be happy, smile, no matter now much ya wanna punch him in the face. It'll help him open his eyes and start straightening up.

With ulcers you need to be careful, make sure she drinks water and gets rest, don't have her walking too much and be sure as hell she doesn't freak out over things and get stressed out, alright?

Again, I'm proud of you Tammeh and I know you can do this if you just keep your head stable on those shoulders of yours! If ya ever need help, just call me. I'm sure I can be of some assistance.
