I took a walk so long ago,
I can't remember when.
Along the way I lost something,
that I cannot find again.
I stop and ask directions,
from faces I don't even know.
They grin as if they know just where,
but then turn away and go.
I stopped one time when familiar,
something inside me stirred.
I held on to it as tight as I could,
but it fled as would a bird.
I wonder some times if its even true.
That might I be losing my mind?
That what is missing is really here,
but hidden from my sight.
Lost on a forgotten horizon,
this world familiar strange to see.
I cling to hope and pray that soon,
I'll find whats been lost from me.
