There are three main branches philosophy. They are metaphysics, epitemology, and ethics. I am going to write my views on each of them, but the first thing you need to understand is that the underlying question in philosophy is, "what is the meaning of life?" When answering philosophical questions, remember, that the only fact in life is that you really don't know. To me metaphysics means reality, and what it consists of. I think that all the branches of philosohy crossover, so my theories tend to also crossover. Blah! this whole entry is just convoluted right now, so to get my thoughts straight I am going to start a new paragraph.
Lets start with epistemology, the study of knowledge. We don't know anything. At least we start out that way. As we grow up we gain knowledge through experience. The thing is that my experiences are different than yours, so my knowledge will be different than yours. We both know what a computer is (since you would need one to even be reading this), but what I percieve, and how I define a computer may be different than you because of our knowledge base. The differences in our views of a computer are so insignificant that it can be ignored though, because we both picture a machine that does stuff for us when the word 'computer' is used. You see, everything we know is through our perceptions over time. These perceptions are defined and stored in memory, to be used if needed. With these perceptions, we can use our mind to understand ideas. You can now combine colors, tastes, smells, and textures to represent an object, and you can draw that object from your mind to describe it with the same words that you labeled it with in your memory. Everything you understand is a combination of what you know, and what you can reason. You must also realize that everything you are made to understand is true, at least to you. If you believe that a tree is a frog, then it is a frog to you, and i is true to you because you blieve it to be true. If you went into a society with this belief, you might change it because most people will think that you are foolish for beliving that a tree is a frog. But as you can see, your new belief is that a tree is a tree, and it is true to you, because you now understand it to be something different. Thing thing with most truths is that they are relative, and not always factual. I will elaborate morwe tomorrow. boy, im tired.
