The watch stopped ticking three seconds before midnight. Riana took no notice of this; she was too busy trying to study for her AP Biology test the very next day. She silently cursed Mrs. Lanford for caring about every little detail of photosynthesis- Riana was only in AP Biology to fill up her schedule. Being a Senior was getting to be troublesome; college applications were mentioned nearly everyday, and sometimes Riana felt like simply not GOING to a college just to get everyone to shut up. Closing her eyes for a second, Riana found herself wishing life were like a fairy tale. Not once do they ever mention anything about going to college or how tedious studying can get.
So why can't I just meet a handsome man, fall in love, and live happily ever after? Riana wondered. Deep down, she was almost jealous of the princesses in children's fairy tales. Riana's eyes were fighting hard to stay open. The Vault she had purchased earlier was having no effect on her; she was a split second away from falling into a deep sleep. However, her eyes bolted open and she checked her watch- it was 11:59. It can't be midnight already...can it? Time flew by so quickly. The thick AP Biology book was closed, as if it were telling Riana, "Okay, no more studying, go to bed." Three minutes later, it was 11:59. Riana stared at her watch, realizing it was broken.
Tonight was such a bore, Riana thought to herself. Cameron didn't even invite me to that huge party of hers. Riana felt like stomping on the nearest object, which was her AP Biology book. She would've considered it, if she wasn't forced to pay for it by her parents. Is Cam mad at me? I didn't do anything. It hurt Riana to think that she was the only one not there: not guzzling down drinks and not dancing. She flipped her cell phone open and debated whether to call Cameron or not.

"C'mon, Jared! We need to pick up 'Ana!" Cameron whined, pulling her boyfriend by his hand. She's been begging him for the last past HOUR to go with her to get her bestfriend. When Jared pulled his hand away, she muttered and stormed off, rubbing her temples. 'What an a**...' Cameron thought bitterly, walking in the direction of her car.
The Honda Civic was sitting alone, a far ways from the party she was having...Which was at the park. The car was the first love of her life, and she loved to rub that in Jared's face. The white car sparkled, it seemed, as she neared it. She loved that.
While most teenagers had to wait 'till their birthday or graduation to get a car, her parents bought her one when she was 15. Her father, loving to go to drag-races, brought her along and eventually taught her how to drive. But that was a long time ago, in Cameron's world. Her father died in a car accident. Funny how the one thing he loved most...Is the one thing that killed him.
Cameron fished through her pants-pocket and pulled out her keys. Attached to the key-chain, was a duck. When you clapped, the duck would QUACK, letting you know where the location of the keys. It was a present from Riana, and a very good present at that. Cam always managed to loose her keys somehow.
