The newscaster's deep voice died away as the group passed a TV shop that had a few of their merchandise on display by the window.
"28 blocks?!" How much energy do you two pack, anyways?!" Jack yelled to the human-ish lightbulbs.
Kai growled over her shoulder. Despite the loose modern clothes Takara had loaned her, she felt like she stuck out in the bustling metropolis crowd, as if she were still glowing. Even though her light died out half-way into the night. Her lack of sleep didn't help her mood neither. Maybe it was her crimson eyes, also.
"Don't worry. People will just think you're an albino with raven black hair." Rem teased before they had left the sanctuary of the hotel. The demoness glared over at Kioshi, who was in-step with her. She loathed the angel for having the protection of sunglasses. The shades kept anyone from seeing his milky-white orbs that were penetrated only by the blackness of his pupils. Kioshi smirked at her, reading or guessing what she was inwardly ranting about.
Aergan was feeling equally out of place. Jack & Kioshi were too short to loan him any clothes, so his own clothes had to suffice for the time being. The cloak didn't help much. Nor did his towering frame.
"Are we there yet?" The vampire whined as yet another mother pulled a gawking child behind her. As if he were some passing ogre.
"Almost." Takara chuckled, sensing the awkwardness rise in the group.
"FOOD!!"
The women jumped as the men caught a wiff of another food stand & bolted across the busy street, nearly getting hit by every other car they passed. Zaira blinked at them.
"How could they still be hungry? They attacked a food stand just 15 minutes ago."
"Fast metabolism, I guess." Rem said in a bewildered sense.
Kakairo blinked at the 5 guys. (Sotaru included, He had disappeared a while back & was now sitting on the umbrella of the cart, munching on six pieces of pizza.) The vendor was frantically taking & preparing each order at the same time. The demoness sighed in aggrevation.
"I don't have time for this..." she muttered as she went to walk past Takara. She was stopped by the dragoness grabbing her by the collar. Kai gurgled as she came to a sudden stop with a blocked windpipe.
"Where do you need to be?" Takara asked in a teasing tone.
"Anywhere..." Kai replied sourly & hoarsly.
Rem trotted to her other side. "Lighten up, Imotto-chan!" She poked her ribs.
Kakairo went to lunge at her but Takara tugged her backwards and into a headlock. By now Kai was turning blue. "Exactly. HEY KIOSHI!! GET US ALL A SLICE!" she yelled over the traffic. Kioshi waved to show he heard. The already busy vendor looked like he was going to cry.
Zaira giggled. "Kai-chan, if you must be in the human world you must act like one."
"I AM NOT EATTING MORE HUMAN CRAP THAT'S PACKED WITH GREASE & POISON!!" screamed Kakairo. Takara had to rub her ear that was facing her because it started to ring.
10 minutes later everyone was eatting a slice of pizza. Kai was on her second slice.

Rem threw her crust to some pidgeons, who attacked it with relish. "Hurry up & eat. I want to get this shopping trip over with."
A groan erupted from Taronis & Jack.
"I HATE shopping...." Jack growled.
"Yeah... the only interesting store you girls go into is Victoria Secret." Taronis piped up. Zaira, Rem, & Takara glared at them. Kioshi & Jack tried to mask their snickering. Aergan shifted uncomfortablly. He was going to say a smartass comment but thought better when he felt Rem's death glare. Kai looked clueless again.
"Pany shop, Kai..." Zaira explained.
"Oh... " She joined the glaring club. Her aura began to flare. Rem put her into a bear hug. Kioshi grabbed her by the head. "No massacres in a city."
"Well have to go into an undergarment section anyways." Takara said.
"Figures..." Rem sighed. She let go of Kai & walked away to avoid getting an earful.
"Why?!" the demoness shrieked.
Kioshi nibbled on the last bit of his pizza. "I do..." he said with a mischivious look. He dodged all four punches from the girls.
"Whatever..." Rem growled as they came to a reasonable looking store. She let out a forlorn sigh. "Let's get this ove with..."
((not much happened here. But some action should pop up in the next. 3nodding ))
