I moved the poem up. So here it is. =3
~Recurring~
Awakened in the night
In a home not my own
My eyes innocent and young
The situation is familuar
It occurs each night
I prowl the house
Finding not a soul
My young mind wanders
I snap back to the dream's reality
I'm now outside
Cold night air caresses my cheek
My body seemingly floats to a door
Gray in the night that presses in
My hand turns the golden knob
I'm greeted with the unexpected
The waters that had filled the cellar are gone
Not a trace is left
My bare children's feet follow
Cold gray steps reluctently
Horrors only imagined by a child's dream surround me
Threating to sufficate me
Three women around a cooking pot
I know where my family is
In the pot with things known and unknown
Tears blur the image
I turn to run
A firm grasp
Nails dig in
I wake from my dream
My nightmare
