Who am I?
Words that echoed through Dariell's mind often. Once again she caught herself standing in front of the mirror, wondering what she was supposed to see there and who it was that stared back at her. Ever since she was just a young girl she seemed to have lost track of who she was. She reached a hand out to the mirror and pressed her hand against its surface, the bathroom lights casting shadows across her features. What did others see when they looked at themselves, at her?
'You're just...different.' These words from a long ago classmate back in grade school had shattered Dariell's world. How was she different? She was human, had neither disabilities nor deformities, had likes and dislikes. How had she ended up different without her even knowing? She had had two choices and now questioned the one she had made. Was it right, had she done the right thing?
Do you choose to conform?
Do you choose to make your own way?
