Every month on the night of full moon, moon hamsters who existed from ancient times are known to gather up on the mountaintops to celebrate their sacred night under the stars. Some of their rituals include performing dramas, studying constellations, and dancing in a group around a tiny bon fire while waiting for their sunflower seeds to roast.
Unlike their earthy relatives, moon hamsters live peacefully together in a shamanistic lifestyle. They are extremely suspicious of outsiders, hiding themselves immediately when strangers approach. Few humans have ever witnessed their gatherings, but those who are fortunate enough to befriend a moon hamster will find themselves in the company of a most loyal and intelligent friend.
Moon hamsters are most easily spotted on the nights of full moon, although there will never be any charcoal or seed shells left behind the next day. If you look hard enough for their tiny shadows against the indigo sky, however, you might be able to catch a glimpse of them.
