Day 2
Mood -- Zapped/Drained/Coffee High burning_eyes
Okay. So it is day 2 of the wonderful adventure known as Debate Trip! Woohoo! So many things were seen, learned, and done today. And I am pulling my first over nighter for college. Shockingly it is for debate and not school. =S
I have coffee, water, music, and wireless access here at the Marriot and I am ready to go with my partner Phil. We're working on gathering up information -- why you ask? Well it turns out we debated! Talk about crashing and burning. But that's jumping the gun a bit. Let me start from the beginning of the day!
So I woke up at six, Leah took a shower first, and I tried to catch a few more z's. No dice. Angela began snoring. So I huffed and puffed and finally got up to start putting my stuff up and gathering my clothes. After Leah got out I took a shower and got dress (P.S. knee-highs s0x0rs much. evil )
After that we stepped out side and it was a positively beautiful view. Little gray, but still beautiful. Grab a quick bite and got on the bus. I decided to sleep there and quicky began to slumber, and after several uncomfortable positions I discovered that Phil makes an amazing pillow. <33
So after sleeping half way through the trip we breaked for lunch and I called mom. McDonald's. BLAARGH!
Back on the bus! Went back to sleep and turned Phil once more into my human pillow <3. I woke up twenty minutes till we hit Jersey. This city, though rough on the outside, is beautiful. I love it. We ended up taking the long way to our hotel. Okay this is where it gets interesting.
So guess how many Marriots there are? Um. Like a bagillion! So after going around in circles for like forty five (or maybe even an hour) we find the Courtyard Marriot. Not the one we want. We pass the Hilton once more (surprise surprise! It's the only hotel we could find. We should have stayed there =/) and then finally in a massive clump of Marriot hotels, we found ANOTHER Courtyard Marriot, like down the street. Does that make any sense? Yeah, I didn't think so either. It took us like an hour and thirty minutes to find our freaking hotel!
So finally we settled in, and fifteen minutes later we are back on the bus going to the competition. There me and Phil find out we are debating, scrummage up as much information as we could and headed off. The first debate we were negative, which we had like zip information for. =D This is a beautiful way to start debate! We totally crashed and burned. Then we did another and we were affirmative. We had more information, but the problem was we didn't have enough. That and the other team s0x0rs much. So we burned, but we didn't crash!
Side note: >> Omigawd. Some people take debate to far. There were girl/guy partners and guy/guy partners that wore matching outfits. The guy/guy partners were more freaky. They looked exactly alike in clothes, down to the shoes! >O FREAKS!
Got back between 8-9 and ate dinner at hotel. Now I am here sitting across from Phil, talking to him on AIM and working on getting information. =D Hoozah! Okay, that is the sum of day 2. Fun ne? Now to work!
