I had my one year review at work yesterday. That's where your manager sets you down, and tells you how you've done in the last year. They tell you things to improve on, and compliment the good you've done. At Sam's Club, they're usually pretty strict about policies. You have to do things perfectly and all that.
Well you're graded on a point system based on policies, dress code, working with others, assisting members, reliability, just things like that. There's 16 points possible, last year at my first one for the 90 day review I got 15 points. Which let me get a 40 cent raise, 16 points gives you the max 50 cent raise. But hardly anyone gets it. They don't give those outs to save some money I guess. I mean, last year I lost that point because I didn't sell any plus memberships.
I'm a cart attendant. How do you sell memberships when you only deal with people as they're leaving the store?
Well this time around amazingly I got all 16 points. So I got a 60 cent raise, they raised it ten cents this year. So now I'll be making 8 bucks an hour. Which should be pretty good.
Other then that, my only news is I'm going to Illinois for 9 days in October. I got off work, amazingly. I've already bought the plane tickets, and preregistered for a convention. My girlfriends coming with us and I even already bought some costumes to wear. I'm going to be the movie version of symbiote spiderman!
I'm looking forward to that. Asides from that my dad is still getting his heart operation I mentioned in my last entry. So here's hoping that goes well.
