	Musing in between tasks Little update to this dusty, neglected thing! Gaia Newsletters Now it should be easier for new and experienced members alike to get the latest Gaia consolidated into one newsletter. 3nodding Some people have wondered if the newsletter will only be a rehash of announcements, and the answer is yes and no. Yes, announcements will be included in the newsletter, but minor news that we feel weren't major enough to warrant an entire announcement will go in the newsletter as well. Move toward NPCs for Announcements Some members have expressed a little worry over the using of NPCs to make announcements. I just wanted to let you guys know that we're still here; we haven't gone away! biggrin We still like you! whee We all just sat down and had a big discussion about what would happen if we kept using our admin/developer usernames to make announcements. The change was made for several reasons: Using just a few NPCs to announce things rather than a dozen different orange and green usernames is less confusing for members Helps to make the fantasy and Gaia storyline more seamless in the Gaia world By just allowing a few admins/devs to make announcements, it was unfair to others who have contributed to the features. Gaia is more than just Lanzer, VO, and L0cke! All the features you see on Gaia have been the results of team efforts so switching to NPCs helps to be fair to everyone involved. ^_^ Can't really think of anything else to say right now - up to my ears in work! ;o; Hope you guys have been enjoying the newest features!

	Ah, It's fine. I was a little worried, I kind of miss the interaction between Admins and members, and since you guys rarely post in the forums, announcements seemed to be the only way you were in contact with us. It's a lovely idea though, simpley because it gives Gaia that game-ish roleplaying feeling again, which was originally intended when Gaia was made, right? Just don't leave us okay!? crying

	I think the newsletter idea rocks, and that using NPCs to announce them is even better! I love the other new features as well! Great work!

	eh... it doesn't make all that much of a difference to me but I sure liked seeing admins and such making announcements more than NPCs either way, I'll still enjoy Gaia the same heart

	I love the way the new system works! Especially with the little announcement thing on the quick-link thing. is bad with official names of things Thing thing thing, Ling! It is a little sad that we'll see your smiling avatars much less. Plus a lot of the time I found the announcements entertaining because they came from real people. Real... silly people. But this will be good, because, as you say, it'll help the distinct line between 'forums Gaia' and 'plot gaia' fade a little. And people love NPC's nearly as much as they do the administrators... <3 And this way you can add to the NPC's personalities and stuff. Also, I like the whole newsletter thing because a lot of the time I miss little stuff because announcements can come pretty quickly, one after another, or are added to, which I miss, because I am too lazy to check all of the time. You're vying for first place with VO on my list of favorite admins, Ling. I'm not quite sure why. But you are. Because you're cool or something. D: So there. Oops, I think my brain just exploded. Sorry, I'll clean that up. heart

	thinks that there should be perhaps somewhere on the npc's profile which admins post on that account, since she doesnt wanna lose the sight of the admins of which she's grown to love seeing post

	You need bunny ears so you won't drown in work! D: heart I like the newsletters and would like to see more "announcements" concerning small but important information on Gaia. Also, RSS has made it easier to keep up with new announcements whenever i'm not logged on. The bullhorn icon is also another great idea! Thanks for listening to us, keep up the good work! biggrin

	I'm really liking the newsletter feature. ^_^ Half the time, I don't even notice the announcement updates, and then I'm all confused. xd But the horn icon makes it much easier. :B The NPC idea is nice, although I feel like we're "losing touch" with our beloved admins, since it's like you're not the ones informing us about the site...? I'm not making sense, am I? xD Ahwell. <3 A suggestion though: Rina does the Towns update, Logan does the Fishing, so why doesn't Josie do the Housing? After all, that's her area. surprised And Josie needs love! waves flag

	D: Lemme just say.. I like the whole idea of the NPCs making announcements.. But there should REALLY be a staff page of some sort so new Gaians know what's going on. I was talking something about VO the other day in Towns and I had at least two people ask me who he was. Now that, dearies, that is sad. :/ So maybe find a way to get the admins still in there and present.. ?
