From the few sites i have read :
NFTs in their current form are a bad idea because of people stealing art. Basically , if you buy art as part of an NFT that money does not ( necessarily ) go to the artist . And there is whole bunch of legal issues , with DMCAs , copyright and so on.
My conclusion ? if you want to support artists (and websites like Gaia ) , there are already ways to do so. Like , Patreon ( and other sites ) for artists . And currently GCash/subscryptions for Gaia.
If you want to do it as an investment ? IDK . You want a get rich quick sort of deal ? IDK , that either.
The following are articles i glanced at or read today . FYI

On the environment :
There were too many websites , proposing it . Which makes me think that it's SUS. Or just FUD , by big money actors trying to scare people away from crypto.

I say that because , it got me thinking as i glanced through the titles of all these articles .
Damage to environment = bad . Okay. Yeah , how ? articles proceed to tell me about energy consumption . Okay, But , what about credit cards / debit cards ? Isn't one of the reasons credit cards have a surge charge, is because they have to pay for THEIR servers and " processing " ?
Then i remembered : What about coins ? and paper money ?
I did not see one article that directly compared the two . Then i thought : if these " crypto miners " were to switch to solar , wouldn't that fix the problem ?
The closest i could find on regular money was this :

I think i found the original study the environment thing is based on :

I have seen some comments that crypto is a scam or a ponzi. From what i've read and seen over the years. No it's not. IF the US GOV recognizes that crypto currency is a thing . And acknowledges it as a legitimate investment . Then , no it's not a ponzi.
BUT , US GOV also warns that it CAN be used as ponzi scheme.
