Rolling off the embankment steep in spite of all the stinging bindis

Clipped wings and a gilded cage
Here a songbird
Lacking grace
The melody flowing thoughts erase
Whiling away the daylight
When first the stars to eye align
The key appears to tender join
But straying far is not in sight
Only to gaze off within other walls
And turn at advent of the dawn
To once again reclaim the throne
Of gilded safety, braced in thorns
All essentials
None of want
This is the story often got
And often forgot
