X-Men 3: The last stand.
I just got back from that movie with my girlfriend. I must say I enjoyed it, at first I was afraid it wouldn't be any good as I read so many reviews that it sucked. But after watching this movie, it's become way to apparent that those reviewers knew nothing of the comics.

Just taking several threads in Gaia for example, oh and if you haven't seen this movie don't read anymore, there will be spoilers.

*Spoilers*

Many were upset that they killed off profersor xavier. However, if you stay until the end of the credits there is a key scene that shows good old profersor X in a hospital bed, speaking to his irish friend who was suprised to see him.

How is this so? Well, remember earlier in the movie when he was talking about it being ethical to transfer one persons concious into a person who was a vegetable?

Well, thats exactly what he did to save his own life.

More complaints was scott and jean died. Well this happened several times in the comics. Actually, phoenix killed scott in the comics. Where as jean dies all the time.

Moving on, some complained that wolverine cried. Well, he did it in the comics, and just consider what this movie presented to us for just a moment. He had to kill the woman he loved. HAD TO, would you not cry in that case?! I honestly don't see the big deal about it, he just fell down and cried a little but still kept the macho vibe about it with trying to hide it and all.

Now many were upset that magneto lost his powers. Well, if you watched the ending you would see him move a chess piece. How is that so? Well, leeches power and cure was only temporary, everyone that recieved it will revert back to normal eventually.

Oh and lets not forget juggernaut. I'll admit, I was a little peeved at how he was effected by leech. But they never really stated leeches power was limited to mutants only. Even if they did, explaing juggernauts whole background would of been to lengthy to put in the movie.

*Spoilers*

All in all I liked this movie, it just irks me that everyone thinks you can only be a critic if you downtalk everything. It's like everyone mindset now is that, if I am the first to say something sucks everyone will think I'm cool!

Pfft.

Anyways bedtime for me. I work tommorow, and am going to a fair on sunday. With kings, wenches and knights!

I just got back from the movies. It was a damn good movie. Anyways, thanks for that little bit of info of what happens after the credits. I knew I should have stayed, but my dad didn't know what the X-men even were nor did he care. Maybe I'll go see it again.

I couldn't read most of your entry 'cause I haven't seen the movie yet, and I don't want to spoil anything. crying

I hope you had fun at the fair, though. 3nodding

I'm also very familiar with the X-Men comics and while the movie does ignore some key aspects, it can only be so long, I wouldn't have liked to see it any more crammed than what it was already. Explaining characters and giving about everyone more screen time would've been an impossible try anyway.

My opinion? I liked the movie.

Also, Juggernauts infamous quote got the whole audience who no doubt were very familiar with a certain internet meme. ^^

I liked the movie, the only 2 parts I didnt like were:

Anything that had to do with Rogue, this movie barely even had her in it and she got the cure, what a dumb b***h.

The other thing, Magneto's regain of his powers at the end of the movie. I like the fact he regained his powers, I just didn't like that they showed him regaining them to make you feel that there will be a sequel. How can they have a sequel when 2 of the main characters are dead, before I thought 3 main characters died but then heard about xavier's new body.

I really really liked this movie, even if they didn't have the same director as the previous two ( and of course that this one directed Family Man with Tim Allen and of course Rush Hour:2 and yes the third one that is currently in pre-production)

Btw, Kelsey Grammar has redeemed himself to me as an actor. mrgreen

Anyways, have fun at the fair with the knights and witch burnings and such. that would be cool! xd

They can make a sequal the same way the comics did. They had major characters die off all the time, and just pulled crazy things out of no where to bring them back. rofl Anyways, scott died because it happened with the dark phoenix, and not to mention he didn't want to be in the movie at all. He signed on with superman returns, and only wanted a minor role.

Jean died, well because she had to. But I personally liked how they showed magneto regain his powers. It lets on to those who have no clue about leeche's powers knowthat they were only temporary.

Plus, they had to open it up for a sequel. It's not the end of the franchise after all, just this trilogy.
