Purgatory
As my tears fall,
I see my life reflected back.
I see my hope pass through the eye of a needle.
My courage evaporates with the sun.
I feel my heart slowly being torn.
So finely, so deeply, so painfully.
I watch as my eyes begin to close.
I see myself,
Slowly dying.
I reach out to try and save me,
But I'm too far away.
Too Far away.
I enter a deep dark world.
A world where a black cloaked figure greets me.
He takes my hand in his,
As we walk so far.
So far away from light,
Into deep grayness.
He stops and lets me go.
I stand there alone,
Quite frightened.
I turn but he is gone.
I don't know what to do.
I don't know where to go.
Welcome.
Welcome to Purgatory.
Here...is where you'll stay.
Here...in safe Purgatory.
When your time will creep up on you,
I'll come to greet you.
