So long I have stay in this golden cage
Safe and protected
Held up high, shelter from wicked hands
I never have to worry about the happiness fading
Never worry about starvation, never worry about dying
In this golden cage I can play and sing all I want
But…someday I will be free
And I don’t want that to come to be
It’s a world full of giants
A dangerous and unpredictable world
Why would I leave when I have everything?
I can’t leave my home, can’t leave this cage
My wings have long since forgotten how to fly
But even if I could fly again I do not want to
I much rather grow old and die
