DmC: Devil May Cry Is A Redundant Title
This has been bugging me for a while and I’m just curious if anyone can make sense out of it.

Why is DmC: Devil May Cry a redundant title? Everyone knows that DMC stands for Devil May Cry. Fans use that because it’s simple and quick to say. But the reboot decides to use that same abbreviation and the original title. Again, why? It’s redundant for a game to be called Devil May Cry: Devil May Cry.

Unless that was their plan, to make people confuse. At first I thought they weren’t that stupid, that just maybe the DmC stand for something else? But nope, they clearly stated that it stands for Devil May Cry. They purposely lower case the letter “m” to differentiate the abbreviation of the original game, DMC.

It’s ridiculous. They certainly didn’t put much thought into it. Films makers do a better job at titles. For example, when they decided to reboot the Spider-Man films they decided to go with the title The Amazing Spider-Man. For the Superman films they went with the title Man of Steel. Why couldn’t the reboot be title DmC: Ascendancy or something better and relevant?
