This brings up a number of points:
At its roots, G Corp is essentially the product of a seventeen-year-old boy's mind. While it was under co-leadership with Edmund until 2000 or earlier [5], it is fully in Gambino's hands now, and he strikes me as the type to retain many of the traits he had during his late teens well into adulthood. This is supported by his current personality as well as his company management [citation needed]. This explains a lot about G Corp...
Johnny claims that he wants his son to greatly surpass his achievements [5]. Knowing that he had these expectations, and knowing that he started changing the world at or before age 17 (less than two years older than Gino was when introduced [6] and six years younger than he is now [1]), explains a lot about Gino's childhood. o_o
The question then arises as to how Gino survived without going crazy. However, there are multiple factors in play. We do not know very much about his life prior to 2004, and it is entirely possible that he has had problems with this in the past. His father's nature being what it is, however, he may not have received the necessary psychological treatment to recover from a large-scale mental breakdown, and it is more likely that his emotional resilience is simply due to having his father's genes and therefore being of particularly strong material despite his apparent weakness in more obvious areas.
Johnny is even more freaking awesome than we knew [citation needed].
