Day 1
Finally arrived in the capital, DC. Well, it's got ******** construction, JUST LIKE EVERYWHERE ELSE WE'VE DRIVEN ON THIS DAMNED TRIP...but I digress. Nothing seen so far, except the street signal hanging out the window.
Had lunch at Dad's friend Jack's place. It was good. Familiarity seems to be breeding a shade of contempt among us travelers, though. At least, with me. I'm getting sick of so much...driving around with my family. My niece mouthbreathes when she sleeps--and she sleeps too damned ******** much, both in the hotels and in the car, and Mom and Dad seem to be showing their age. Or at least an increasing inability to make me want to smack them less when they do something stupid, like Mom changing the radio station just because it faded out once. ...Or leave me alone. Will have more to put on the sights and such tomorrow. Also, an adendum to my part on Ohio, a P.S. of sorts: the arquitecture of St. Louis is drool-worthy.
