A true friend
He looks up from his book
he spies my look of guilt.
The look on his face
makes me tell
him everything.
He has a power over me
that we don't understand.
A friend known for only
a few months.
Something in his eyes
In the way he understands me
that makes me trust
him and no one else
I wonder what it is that
makes me tell him.
But it just comes out.
It isn't something that I
would tell him normally.
But I did.
And he smiled.
He said he'd be there
for me always.
I hope that is true.
A friend for life
Wandering the broken path
of life tells me that I
Need a friend
I need someone by my side
Someone to understand
how I think and why I act
the way i do
Looking at the puzzle
of life tells me that I
Need help
I need help to
put together the peices
and to look at the
big picture
Looking at you
I realize that I've
found all that
Second thoughts
His laugh
echoes in my ears
His voice
Lingers in my heart
His touch
Is still felt
He has left
never to return
He has looked back
once or twice
He has thought
of coming back
But he doesn't.
I feel guilty
for what I have done
But I know it
was for the right
reasons.
