The funeral
time stands still in a mourners mind,
inevitable raindrops frozen in falling.
hearts are hollow with gutted core,
love has failed them, but they can't ignore;
the passing stream of people living,
drawing them back from black pits brink.
the call of sunlight on the breath of morning,
which sings them up from peaceful rest.
mind is numb in a lovers mourning,
clinging to threads that time forgets,
colours drowned in reapers grey,
her life failed her, and they can't ignore:
the beating of their own raw hearts,
that tear the faith from grieving breasts.
the call of darkness in nights black eyes,
which sings her down to peaceful rest.
