We breathe slowly
Eyes are closed
We lay for a while

Hair spread out

The stars glisten
Palm to palm
And then you stir
You sit up
And prepare to leave
I reach out to you
But your back is to me
I lightly touch you back
But you shy away

Rose petals strewn all around
My lips brush the small of your back
You cringe
I retract myself
My hand snakes around for yours in the dark
All I find are blood red petals

I reach out to you again and find your fingers

I entangle our fingers
You don’t flinch
I lay there while you have you back to me
I watch as a ribbon ties around our hands
It glows and I realize it is the ribbon of fate
It is as red as the roses
It is soft but tight
You turn your head to our hands
I squeeze lightly
A soft smile spreads across your lips

I tug your hand
Asking you to come back down
You look at me
That smile stays upon your lips
You bend down to reach me
Brush soft fingers over my blushened cheek
Caress my cheek tenderly
I pull your head down to mine
Lips meet
Tongues dance
Breathing heavily
