Within the structure of a human mind
Things change without warning nor reason
No matter how hard you try, time gets through
The time of years in age and progression
Sometimes sooner
Sometimes later
But in the end it always comes
The viel is lifted from the eye.

Change happens
Though it may be because of things outside our doing
Things that cause death and destruction
Such as killing
War
Disease
Famine
It jolts the adolescent mind to realize
That the truth is never truly so simple
Now it has to face hardships to make decisions
And to make a living
It harbors guilt and envy
Love and Passion

And hate and greed
The time in years doesn't matter
It what you grow through in these years of self discovery that does
If your years of in between are sheltered
It takes longer
If it's filled with strife
Not so long
For to protect oneself
One must make adult desicions
One with logic and calculating reason
Not the frivilous freedom of childhood
