【Aimee Smith】

Aimee glared out the window of the vehicle she rode in, her bright blue eyes were filled with such anger. She ignored her adoptive mother who was trying to talk to her, or maybe it was her sisters she was talking too. She didn't care to decipher who she was speaking too. Her thoughts were too jumbled and confused to even think straight. One of the many thoughts racing through her mind was, How could they do this to us?
She blew a strand of her light blonde hair out of her eyes. Her make-up was done carelessly, like she had a fight with the eye shadow and lost. It was clear up to her eyebrows and a bright shade of red. Her pouted lips were cherry red as well. She watched the passing trees, bushes, and buildings blur by. Like her life, her life was ruined. Her future plans... just distant blurs that she could barely remember. She was to be married, to a man she doesn't even know for God's sake! Tears of frustration welled up in her eyes, but the teenager blinked them away before anyone saw.
Aimee kept a firm grasp on the cross necklace in her right hand. It was the only thing she had of her real parents, the only thing that told her they were real at one point. She was gripping the necklace so hard that her knuckles turned white and the inside of her hand was being stabbed by the sharp edges of the cross. It didn't penetrate her flesh, but it was on the verge of breaking skin.

Her sulking was interrupted by a vibration from her phone in her pocket. She pulled it out, ( after struggling with the seatbelt for a moment or two ) and read the message on the screen. It was from a friend at school, Nina, she couldn't possibly tell her about the marriage.

Heyyy, wht's going ooon, chica? You hvn't answered any of my calls. R u ok?

Aimee almost shut her phone but she thought Nina deserved to at least know she wasn't dead. Her thumb hit the send key reluctantly. She hated lying to her friends, especially Nina. Aimee sighed as she waited for the message to send. Nina's reply came almost immediately.

I'm fine. Don't worry about me, I'll be back to my normal self in no time. Just a little cold, that's all.

Oh, K. well get better soon. Love ya. :]

Aimee shut the phone after she read the last message and continued her sulking.
