Kayla never showed up at home and no one had seen her since school. It worries me that she just vanished, but she is just as able as any of us to live on her own, and she probably needs a break after the new arrival. I promised myself not to worry unless she didn't show up tomorrow, especially if Nick didn't show either.

Nick showed up, but Kayla didn't. "Do you know where she is?" I hissed at Nick during our first class, Caleb turned in surprise at my mood, but I ignored him.

"Who?" Nick replied after a second.

"You know who!" I replied icily, "If you did something to her..."

"I didn't do anything to her!" He cut me off angrily. "I told you yesterday that there is only one person who can trust me and she is the one person who never will. Only she can trust me because she is the only one I cant hurt, not again." If Caleb wasn't there, listening to every word, I would have pushed the subject.

About half way through the class an envelope was given to me. The front was hand written:

To: Violet Cyllents
From: Kayla Ray

The note inside was in the same writing:

~Violet~
Sorry if I cause you to worry. I
am taking a break from my life there
for a little while to visit my child-
hood home, teachers, and my
parents. Be back soon.
~Kayla~

I finished reading and noticed that both Nick and Caleb had their heads tilted over to read it. Nick's eyes widened in surprise a little. "What?" I asked when it happened.

"Nothing, just a little surprised at something." He replied and then started ignoring me, yeah, we are going to be the best of friends.
