I see you here, but I wonder where you've gone away to.
Losing grip on the fragile semblance of a connection I thought I had.
For a moment I close my eyes and look towards the sky,
Just wondering if I should give up this fleeting chance at remaining;
Welcoming the sound of that distant thunder.
Uselessly I look back, trying to remember when it was I fell into you deep.
I can see the blood pooling around my feet, staining my skin as this cuts me deep.
Then as the rain falls, I watch the me that was real, wash away with the waves.
Breeding an immaculate doll in her place, I bleed away all weakness.
Crafting a soldier, synthetic and flawless by design.
God, but these puppet strings are significant, immortalizing the reality I can't choke.
Already started running, no one knows she's gone.
No, she won't wait to be hurt this time.
Artificial beings possess no emotions; I'm safe now.
The art of deception is a fatal drug once mastered;
I'm halfway from hell now.
Familiar black and white comes into focus,
and I wake from the safety of that dream.
