“Your Girl”
I go to sleep each night wishing you were mine.
I wake up each morning with you on my mind.
Never once do you see the tears I cry for you.
Never once do you see how much I truly miss you.
I cry out your name, but you don't seem to hear me.
I grab a hold of you, but you don't seem to notice.
My heart weeps because it misses you so.
My heart breaks because it sees the truth.
You were never mine, nor will you ever be.
The time we share will eventually be lost
In the sea of time.
One day I hope you see that you belong with me.
One day I hope to be “Your Girl.”
One day I hope to call you mine.
