Minor
Minor floated around
At the speed of sound
To try to find a key;
A key of a sort
To open a door
For my minor to find thee.
Thee was a kind
Of nursery rhyme
To my dear Minor’s ears;
A treasure so great
To have on your plate
You’d live for years and years.
And once key was found
Minor was bound
To speak with Giant about
Living for all
Years more to call
But then Giant began to pout.
“Now why would you want
To live just to traunt
Around the world for views?”
But Minor didn’t see
What’d happen to thee
Around him as he himself grew
“Don’t live forever
It wouldn’t be clever
To only sit around…
And watch all your friends’
Lives come to an end
And stay here alone, to be found.”
And then Minor saw
What he should have known
From the beginning of his quest…
Why live forever
If friendship was more,
And friendship was truly the best?
