Over the Edge
She avoided the mirror the best she could
She hated herself more than they ever would.
Her friends say that she is pretty,
But she is trapped in self pity.
Of the life she once knew

The demons whisper lies in her ear.
Telling her things she hates to hear.
They are all about her awful looks.
So she escapes to reading books.
As she read the despair grew.

She hated herself more and more.
She hated the fact that they were poor.
She started hiding her food and lying to friends.
If only they knew this was the end.
She moves forward as her toes caress the edge,
And says goodbye to the life she once knew
