[Oh, um, I just realized, how the heck are Edward and Alisyn supposed to have kids when they've only been married a year?

Lol so let's say it's ten years, instead. Alisyn is about thirty now. The oldest daughter, Princess Victoria, age ten, is away at the Phoenician court to learn some polish and also spend time with her grandparents. Princess Morgan [aka Momo] is about five, and we know about her, right? Then there's the new child...]

The nurse, whose name is Faye, insists that I be given a bath and a proper room, as well. What I received was a slightly cleaner cell with a rickety bed much like the one at my headquarters, and a quick bath in the castle. I also get regular meals now.

I feel much better with proper care and nourishment. The dye has been washed out of my hair, and it hangs limp and bedraggled to my waist. My clothes are still filthy. But at least my skin is clean.

Faye would not stop muttering all day. "Taking such dreadful care of you, poor dear, and with a baby on the way! I don't care what you've done. Everyone deserves better than this. Plain disgraceful, if you ask me."

I do enjoy her company. It is so nice to see a somewhat sympathetic face that isn't necessarily involved in this dreadful conflict. I let her prattle on and say little.

Once when I was falling asleep, drifting in and out of consciousness, I heard Faye arguing with a guard.

"She needs her clothes washed, this instant! They're filthy. You really should take better care of her."

"Why?" the guard sneered. "She won't be needing any of her fancy things much longer."

I could only smile sleepily at the word "fancy" being used to describe these clothes. But my last thought was a hopeful one, before I slid back out of consciousness.

Oh good, they'll release me soon.
